Last lesson of term cancelled - now have a good summer!

We said a fun and sad goodbye to Janet last night at the Highlight.  She’s graduated after five years in Glasgow and is off to be a vet in Florida with her fiancé.  She’s been a constant feature at the Glasgow Swing Dance Society during that time, teaching all levels and generally being great.  We’ll miss her a lot.

What with holidays and so on, we decided to cancel the next class.  So, that’s it for classes until August 4th.  Have a fun summer.  See you in 6 weeks.

New programme dates!

seb @ 2:46 pm

A new 8 week programme begins on Wednesday 29th April 2009 for beginners. The class is open for drop ins, but it is best for new beginners to start at the beginning of the course. The cost is £6.00 per class which commences at 7-30pm prompt and finishes at 9pm. It includes free time to practise and to ask the teachers to help.

Improver/intermediate classes begin at 9pm until 10pm.

We suggest that improvers/intermediates attend the beginners course, as it will improve their basics. Good basics make good dancers, great basics make great dancers. World champions in any style of dance always, always improve on their basics. If it is good enough for them……..!

Poppy Scotland Charity event cancelled

seb @ 4:33 pm

Unfortunately, The Poppy Scotland Charity event in Barrowland in March has been postponed indefinitely due to the credit crunch, the charity are really sad about this action that they have had to take, but if there is a Sponsor out there who could underwrite the costs of the event it could go on at a later date in the year. Apologies to everyone who made it such a huge success……..but one never knows, maybe a sponsor will turn up as it is for such a good cause.
